Olympians and the world’s top track and field athletes return to Piedmont Park for the 3rd Adidas Atlanta City Games on Saturday afternoon. The exhibition comes two weeks before the third stop of the Grand Slam Track.

Several of the competitors participating won big in Miami. Four of the top five finishers in the women’s 100m hurdles (Tia Jones, Ackera Nugent, Kendra Harrison, and Megan Tapper) will line up at 1:30 pm.

Brazil’s Alison dos Santos swept the first two Grand Slam 400m hurdles races and will try to extend the streak in half the distance. Likewise, Trey Cunningham would like to add to his winning ways. The hurdler took the tape in the men’s 100m dash in the Grand Slam – Miami competition.

Akani Simbini (RSA) returns to defend his title in the 100m dash with the world-leading time (9.90 s) in the event this year. He will be challenged by Cravont Charleston (USA) and Oblique Seville (JAM).

Women’s 100m hurdles world record holder Tobi Amusan (NGR) leads a talented field of challengers. Jones (USA), Keni Harrison (USA), and Ackera Nugent (JAM) are all capable of pushing Amusan to the tape.

Crowd favorite and multi-sport athlete Anna Hall is back for a third year and will compete in the long jump and the 100m hurdles. Hall battled eventual winner and 2024 Olympic Gold medalist Tara Davis-Woodhall last year. This year she will compete against the world’s fourth-, sixth-, 12th-, and 13th-ranked long jumpers. Fourth-ranked Jasmine Moore has split her time between the long and triple jumps this season. Moore had her best jump (6.56m) outdoors exactly one month ago.

The pros will share the stage with some of the best high school track and field athletes from around the state compete in the Meet of Champions. The high school event starts at 8 a.m. and will continue through the elite meet. Bring your water, sunscreen, and enthusiasm for this all-day affair.
