The speedster retired in 2017 and turned his attention to coaching. He started coaching in Baltimore at Calvert Hall High School before traveling a few miles down Loch Raven Blvd. for his first collegiate stop at Morgan State University.

Hornets head coach Eddie Robinson, Jr. hired Jones to coach receivers at Alabama State in 2022. In his second season at State, Jones helped wide receiver Kisean Johnson (829 yards, 7 TD) make the All-SWAC First Team Offense.
