Clark Atlanta stormed back in the fourth period to defeat Tuskegee 62-58 at L.S. Epps Gym in Atlanta, GA.
Tuskegee led for thirty minutes until CAU guard Brooklyn McKinley rained in a three from the deep corner. The sophomore guard also had a layup followed by an assist that cut the Golden Tigers’ lead to two.
The defensive pressure by the Lady Panthers turned the tide. Head Coach Tony Bailey’s full-court press produced three consecutive steals that cut the Golden Tigers’ lead from nine to five in three minutes.
Big shots from Alyssa Green-White and Hilani Cantone pushed the lead out to six but the momentum had noticeably shifted.
Atreonia Garner’s layup halfway through the fourth gave CAU the lead and ignited a 6-0 run.
Tuskegee’s game-high scorer Brittney Bolin scored five in the final three minutes to keep the lead to a basket.
CAU put the finishing touches on the win on a layup by Corriana Evans.
