The Maroon Tigers stretched their win streak to six games with a commanding 86-64 win over neighborhood rival Clark Atlanta.

Jermonte Hill scored 13 points in the first half to help Morehouse jump out to a 20 point lead in the first 15 minutes of play. Brandon Peters, Josiah Lawson, and Caleb Thompson combined for 23 of the M-Tigers 40 first half points.
Clark Atlanta woke up the last five minutes clawing the lead down to nine on a layup by forward Jaden Martin. The senior scored 7 points, pulled down four rebounds and had two steals in 17 minutes off the bench.
Forward Jadyn Shider scored 11 points of his 17 points in the first half to help the Panthers stay close enough. Morehouse went cold from the field as Clark Atlanta began to heat up. Jaden Martin scored three points on the Panthers 7-0 run to end the half down 31-40.
Shider kept the energy flowing knocking down a pair of jumpers early in the final half igniting a 6-0 run that cut the M-Tigers lead to one. Panthers guard Darnell Evans picked up the pace 13 of his team high 20 points in the second half scoring.
A layup by Hill pushed the M-Tigers lead back out to three. The lead stayed there for a good four minutes as both teams struggled from the field.
Morehouse hit the gas midway through the half on a deep three by Brandon Peters. The guard scored 16 points shooting 5-9 from the field including 3-5 from behind the arc. The M-Tigers made 50% of their 18 three point shots. When the cloud lifted, the lead was back to double digits 60-47.
Good physical play on defense kept the Panthers from getting clean looks at the basket. The lead swelled to a high of 25 points over the last four minutes to give Morehouse the win. Clark Atlanta will get a shot to redeem themselves on Valentine’s Day of all days.
