Their opponent, Mississippi State, arrived with a respectable 13–3 record and a reputation for relentless defense. But Georgia, sitting at 10–5, had something to prove—and they did just that in a match that will be remembered for its heart, hustle, and heroics.

At the first serve, it was clear this would be no ordinary contest. Each set was a tug-of-war, momentum swinging like a pendulum as both teams traded blows. Mississippi State’s towering blocks met Georgia’s explosive attacks in a clash of styles that electrified the crowd.

Each set was a tug of war of talent. The first set saw Georgia come out swinging, led by outside hitter Bianna Muoneke, whose power and precision were unmatched. But Mississippi State answered back, with Lindsey Mangelson hammering down kills and Noella Obi forming an impenetrable wall at the net. The teams split the first four sets, each showcasing grit and tactical brilliance.

Then came the fifth.

With the match on the line, Georgia dug deep. Muoneke, already with 20+ kills, found another gear, slamming home her 29th kill with a roar that echoed through the gym. Setter Chloe Elarton orchestrated the offense with finesse, while libero Makena Lim flew across the backcourt, digging balls that seemed destined for the floor. These girls were ready!

Mississippi State fought boldly—Mangelson’s 24 kills and Obi’s nine blocks kept them in striking distance—but Georgia’s clutch execution proved decisive. Estelle Haugen’s timely blocks and Kaiya Tyson’s pinpoint assists sealed the deal, and with one final kill, Georgia erupted in celebration. A time was had!!!
