What a turnaround.  Georgia Tech came focused and ready to play.  Georgia Tech women’s volleyball swept Florida State 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-23) to break a four-game losing streak and notch the program’s 900th. The Yellowjackets also extend their home winning streak over the Seminoles to seven straight matches.

(L-R) Larissa Mendes, DeAndra Pierce, and Lameen Mambu combined for 34 kills in the win over Florida State.

Consistency was key for Georgia Tech. Lameen “Mimi” Mambu, Anna Fiedorowicz, and Larissa Mendes led the charge for the Yellowjackets. Mambu had 14 kills on 25 swings for her fifth double-digit kill game of the season and a career-high attack percentage of .440.  Anna Fiedorowicz had a career-best 13 kills and 13 digs, showcasing her two-way dominance.   Larissa Mendes chipped in 12 kills on a season-high 35 attempts.

Setter Heloise Soares orchestrated the offense with precision, recording a season-high 47 assists and a .485 assist percentage, while libero Sofia Velez anchored the defense with 15 digs.

The Yellow Jackets posted their highest attack percentage of the season (.356) and second-highest block total (19), stifling Florida State’s offense throughout the match. DeAndra Pierce added eight kills and a season-high .615 attack percentage, contributing to Tech’s 55 total kills.

Florida State’s Iane Henke posted a career-high 21 kills on 46 attempts. She became the first Seminole since 2023 to record back-to-back 20+ kill matches.  The Seminoles had their best chance at forcing a fourth set late in the third set, but Georgia Tech caught fire. Mambu’s kill ignited a 6-2 run to close out the match.

Sunday’s match marked the 49th consecutive sellout at O’Keefe Gymnasium, emphasizing the passionate support for Georgia Tech volleyball.  The Jackets have won nine of their last ten meetings against Florida State.
