The visiting Tigers’ 46-point barrage in the first three quarters was enough to withstand a ferocious charge by Morehouse and take a 46-38 win back to Duuuuuuu-Vall.
Edward Waters put on a clinic for 45 minutes in their mid-season conference match-up with Morehouse. The purple-clad Tigers answered a 30-yard

field goal from Morehouse’s Davis Rowe with a nine-play, 65-yard drive. Tavion Faulk’s 35-yard pass to Tylon Williams set up the Tigers at the Morehouse 16-yard line. The o-line did the rest. Camren Stewart and Johntarrious Thomas took turns carrying the rock until Thomas hit pay dirt with a 5-yard run into the end zone.
Faulk added another touchdown before Morehouse responded with one of their own. Senior quarterback Miles Scott capped a 75-yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown run.
Edward Waters scored the next 32 points, including a 60-yard pick-six with 24 seconds remaining in the half. It was all purple and orange in the third quarter. Faulk tossed two touchdown passes, and Stewart added one on the ground to cap the Tigers’ scoring on the day.
Chase DeVaughn kicked off Morehouse’s comeback with an 88-yard kickoff return for a touchdown at the end of the third.
The fourth quarter was all maroon and white on both sides of the ball. The Savion Red rushed for a score a minute before Joshua Houston picked off Torey Morrison for a 61-yard touchdown return.
Faulk and company couldn’t get anything going. Both sets of Tigers needed the clock to cooperate. Morehouse needed it to slow down, and Edward Waters needed it to run like the wind.
Trailing by 16 with a little over seven minutes remaining, Morehouse marched down the field for another score. Only the march and Scott’s 29-yard touchdown pass to Dylan Brooks took an exhaustive 4 minutes off the clock.
Edward Waters had one job: eat up the clock. They were successful too, mixing the run and passing game. The Tigers got their biggest assist of the day on third-and-seven at the Morehouse 33-yard line with 1:43 to play. A roughing the passer penalty turned an incomplete pass and a certain fourth-down decision into a new set of downs. Three straight kneel-downs, and the Maroon Tigers’ fate was sealed.
