Gibbs Edges Hill for Second Win

Ty Gibbs literally took the inside track to victory edging Austin Hill in the final lap of the second overtime.

The move by Gibbs gave him the only lead he would need in overtime. The 19-year-old collected his second win of the season and sixth in the XFINITY series.

Marietta native Corey Haim claimed the checkered flag in the opening race on Saturday. Haim got a bump from teammate John Hunter Nemechek and powered through the checkered flag.

Nemechek was a lap down from the leaders but found himself in the right place at the right time.

The helping hand didn’t sit entirely well with all of the drivers. “Just sucks that it had to end like that,” said Zane Smith. “I wish we could have just duked it out.”
